Getting the best result with hide.me
Four practical steps that matter more than the choice of app.
- Pick a server in the country of the library you want, not just the nearest one.
- Connect first, then open the streaming site or app; if you were already signed in, reload the page.
- If a title will not load, switch to another server in the same country before giving up.
- Keep the app's DNS protection switched on: a leaking DNS request can give your real location away.
The honest limits of this test
What a single playback does and does not tell you.
Read before you rely on it
- We played Bridgerton once, on one server, on the day. Other servers and other weeks can behave differently.
- Streaming services block VPN address ranges on and off. If it fails for you, try another server in the same country.
- Other streaming services (Disney+, Hulu, Max, Amazon Prime Video) are not covered by this evidence.
Questions people ask
Short answers, based on our own captures and the data on this site.
Does hide.me work with Netflix?
In our September 2026 capture, Netflix played with hide.me connected (Bridgerton). That is what we recorded on the day; it is not a guarantee for every server or every week.
Which server should I connect to?
Use the country of the library you want: a UK server for BBC iPlayer, a US server for the US Netflix catalogue. The exact server we used is in the caption of each capture.
Which other VPNs did you capture playing Netflix?
We captured playback for PrivadoVPN, LetsVPN, NordVPN, Proton VPN. Anything not listed was simply not captured in this session.
What if a stream does not load?
Reconnect to a different server in the same country, clear the browser's cookies for the streaming site, and make sure the VPN's DNS is active. If it still fails, try another server again later: providers' IP ranges are blocked and unblocked all the time.
